Ryan White Provider Services Eligibility Broward County

Ryan White was a young man who became a national symbol for HIV/AIDS after being expelled from school because of his infection. A hemophiliac, he became infected with HIV from contaminated blood in 1984. In 1990, the year of Ryan’s death, the U.S. Congress passed the Ryan White CARE Act that currently provides the majority of services for persons with HIV/AIDS in the United States.

AIDS Pharmacy Services- Eligibility Criteria are:

  • HIV Positive
  • Broward County resident
  • Have a gross monthly income less than or equal to 300% of Federal Poverty Level Guidelines
  • $12,000 Maximum Asset Limit

Outpatient Health Care/ Oral Health Care/ Medical Case Management/ Mental Health Services/ Medical Nutrition Therapy/ Substance Abuse Counseling-Eligibility Criteria are:

  • HIV positive
  • Broward County resident
  • Have a gross monthly income less than or equal to 300% of Federal Poverty Level Guidelines

AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) Eligibility:

  • Have low income at 300% or less of the Federal Poverty Level
  • Have assets at or below $12,000 (this excludes house and a car)
  • Uninsured or do not have adequate prescription coverage
  • Not confined to a hospital, nursing home, hospice, or correctional facility

AIDS Insurance Assistance Program (AICP) Who Qualifies for the AICP?

Depending on the availability of funds, the AICP is open to those persons who meet all of the following requirements:

  • Receive a Notice of Eligibility for the HIV/AIDS Patient Care Programs.
  • Currently covered by private health insurance
  • HIV Positive or AIDS (no longer symptomatic)
  • Cash assets are $12,000 (for everyone)
